In the movie “Bridesmaids” (2011), lovers of romantic movies have a chance to meet the single Annie Walker who is in her mid thirties. She lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is recovering from a break up, a closedown of her bakery and losing her entire savings. She has managed to get a job in a jewellery shop. Her ever pestering mother tries to convince her to return home but she decides to move in with her sister Brynn, at a ‘Gil’s apartment. Her friendship with Lillian comes handy to counter the crisis in her soul and prevent her from becoming crazy.

Lillian is later engaged to a wealthy Chicago-based financier. She requests her friend Annie to be her lead bridesmaid. The engagement party is held at Lillian’s house, where Annie meets the rest of the bridesmaids. Among them is Rita who is Lillian’s mocking cousin, Lillian’s friend Becca, pretty but hopeless Lllian’s fiancé’s boss’s wife Helen Harris, III and Megan, Lillian’s vulgar future sister-in-law.

Helen and Annie repel at their first encounter and act competitively throughout the time they spend together. Each one of them feels that the other should not be Lillian’s friend. After a couple of days, Annie takes Lillian plus the bridesmaids out for lunch in a Brazilian restaurant prior to visiting a chic wedding dress parlour. The troublesome Helen refuses to share the meat meal, which, unknown to Annie and the rest, turns out to be poisoned and makes the unwell.

While Lillian and the bridesmaids are ill, Helen makes orders for everyone’s bridesmaid dress based on her taste and choice. But does this include cheap bridesmaid dresses? This means that the bridesmaids might be forced to spend heavily on the bridesmaid dresses. Annie, who is worried about her finances, feels that they should opt for cheap bridesmaid dresses to cut down on costs but Helen is determined to have things done her way.

Annie suggests that they hold a bachelorette party at the beach house of Lillian’s parents but Helen would not hear of it.  Helen goes ahead to book a trip to Las Vegas after prevailing over Annie’s idea. Annie’s reluctantly surrenders but her pride does not allow her to accept Helen to buy her a first class flight ticket. After all, if she is ok with the cheap bridesmaid dresses, why fuss about the travels? She decides on sitting in the coach instead. Since Annie hates to fly, Helen suggests she take alcohol and sedatives until she’s completely drunk.

Annie causes disturbance in the plane and get the group escorted out of the plane in Caspar, Wyoming, from where they board a bus back to Milwaukee. She tries to ask for pardon but Lillian can’t hear any of it and finally decides to put Helen in charge of planning for the shower and consequent wedding.

When Annie returns to Chicago to attend the bridal shower which is held at Helen’s house, she discovers that Helen has reconstructed her wedding plans and put in its place a rather complex one. Helen arranges for Lillian to take a trip to Paris and have her wedding dress fitted by one of world’s leading fashion designer. This idea displeases Annie who is of the opinion that inexpensive wedding gowns would as well do just perfect. Watch the movie “Bridesmaids” 2011 to find out what happens next.

Oz, the Great and Powerful March 13, 2013 at 1:05 pm

oz-the great

We all love fiction and surreal movies. After all, we all want to take a breather from all the stresses that we face in our daily lives. Despite the fact that we can be able to download movies online or buy them at disc stores, it is still more fascinating and more entertaining to watch them in theaters, right? This is especially true if the movie promises colorful, bewitching scenes like Oz, the Great and Powerful.

There is no doubt that Oz, the Great and Powerful is one of the most awaited movies in 2013. Spearheaded by James Franco who plays Oscar Diggs, the magician, the movie is inspired from the 1939’s original Wizard of Oz, which was created by Victor Fleming. Lovely witches executed by Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis, and Rachel Weisz, all portrayed their roles well, but lack a little bit of exaggeration to make it superb. The story started to showcase a little bit of Oscar Diggs’ life as a charlatan in black and white. While searching for opened doors and greener pastures for his being an impostor, he was swept away by a whirlwind. Opening his eyes after the catastrophe, his surroundings was filled with life and the screen starts to gleam with wonderfully enchanting colors coupled by enticing technology-aided add-ons. Swept off his feet in this magical land, Oscar came to met different creatures including bad witches played by Kunis as Theadora and Rachel as Evanora. Misled by their amazingly smooth words, he thought they were the good ones while Michelle, the good witch, is the evil one. The wicked witches lured him with gold, treasures, and everlasting wealth and power in exchange for the death of the good witch and their reign over the land. As the story progresses, Oz finds himself in the battle between good and evil not only in the so-called Land of Oz, but also in his inner being.

First of all, James Franco as well as the other lead actresses is renowned for their impeccable performances in their craft. However, in this particular movie, some of them might lack the necessary essentials needed to create a masterpiece. For one, the character of Oz played by Franco might have probably worked well if played by more skillful actors like Johnny Deep. However, the latter already turned down the role, hence; the producer got him for it. Nevertheless, all of them were able to create a movie that’ll deliberately leave an impression in the minds of every movie-goer.

A Review of “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” December 20, 2012 at 4:32 pm

The_Hobbit-_An_Unexpected_Journey.jpegHaving been hiked these fine-looking mountains in the middle countless times beforehand; it is easy to under-appreciate the initial of the Hobbit movies of Peter Jackson, yet unbelievers will possibly find it too excessive.

Somewhere in the midst of the verdant hills and bottle green meadows of Wellington, a moment or two not very many months of Mordor in the past, previous play dough and false blood special effects expert Peter Jackson fell utterly in love with the term “epic.” He expended a lot of existence and spent substantial adversity constructing a series of adaptations of Tolkien that will certainly appeal to each critic all over the earth to employ his dearly loved word to depict them. One at a time each reviewer cut down, the extra fraught breaking up onto a blade of synonymous: immense this, massive that; phenomenal this, Brobdingnagian that.

When the Lord of the Rings series of Jackson brings to a close in a span of two years, tallying six attributes and a lot of false beards to add up, he will have watched over the mainly superb acknowledgment to the prehistoric art of walking eternally dedicated to motion picture. Like every “Lord of The Ring” film, “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” which is the earliest of three money cows placed to clutter up the beloved Boxing Day gravy procession of the industry, is, at its most horrible, a aide memoire of the timelessness of the witticism about the golf of Jerry Seinfeld that it is simply good to be in a well-reshaped vicinity. At its finest it is a resplendently stunning unearthly head-trip, a bells and whistles runaway success that comprehends the capability of cinema to move spectators to places that subsist merely in the mind’s eye. And this point in time, at double the rate of the frame.

The decision of Jackson to insert “game changer” to his CV direct him to film The Hobbit pictures at 48 frames per second, two times the usual pace. The fresh arrangement has made off with a wallop from commentators who have alternatively illustrated it as giving the impression of being “extremely fake”, “highly razor-sharp” and “too far above the ground in definition”, which might or might not be accurate.
